Have you Scene It?
First of all, thanks for dropping by my little website, Scene It. This is a passion project of mine that has been in the works (at least in my head!) for years, focussing on my first true love - movies.
I know a love of movies isn’t particularly unique in the times of streaming services and easily accessible content, but ever since I was little i’ve tried to watch anything and everything I could. From endless trips to Blockbuster, to rewatching every DVD and VHS I owned, to torrenting off dodgy websites, and finally to the holy grail of Netlfix, I think i’ve probably watched an average of a-movie-a-day since I was about twelve.
The best thing about these five thousand-odd movies, whether good or bad (and i’ve seen plenty of downright terrible movies), has been discussing them afterwards with friends and family and arguing what was good and bad.
So I decided rather than just arguing with friends about ‘the greatest Rom-Com ever’, or ‘the Disney movie with the best soundtrack’, i’d start writing down and processing my thoughts in the form of movie reviews. And unlike other, more formal movie reviews, I wanted to include some IMDb tidbits and fun stuff I find while researching these films. Things like production stories, casting what-ifs, and other weird cinema-junkie trivia.
This is the format of Scene It; spoiler-free, stream of consciousness movie recaps with some fun stuff thrown in.
Have a browse and find something to watch, leave your comments at the bottom of the review, and even leave some movie suggestions - i’m always on the lookout for more movies!
